What better way to celebrate
our nation's independence
than with a full symphony
concert that the whole
family will enjoy. The
concert will take place
leading up to the borough's
dazzling fireworks display.
The
non-profit Strand Theater
Initiative is pleased and
proud to bring back the
Pittsburgh Philharmonic in
what has become a cherished tradition for the
community. Enjoy
American classics and
patriotic favorites by
composers whose musical
contributions have helped to
shape our great nation.
For
nearly 35 years The
Pittsburgh Philharmonic, a
60-member symphony
orchestra, offers new and
original performances in
community settings. The
orchestra performs 10 to 15
concerts per year, comprised
of a classical season and a
summer pops series. The
orchestra promotes music
education through its'
Young Artist Concerto
Competition, Music
Exploration Workshops for
elementary students, and a
summer student mentoring
program.
