Full Time Profession: Pittsburgh Facilities Manager, K&LGates
Having lived in the area all of his life, Chris Leisie attended Seneca Valley High School and graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with degrees in Communications and Journalism. He worked professionally as a copywriter for WDAD/WQMU in Indiana, PA. He also wrote freelance commercial copy for various agencies for ten years. In addition to writing, he managed and bartended in the restaurant industry, most recently at the Stone Mansion Restaurant in Sewickley, PA. Chris spent a year abroad pursuing an advanced degree.
Now employed at K&LGates, a law firm in Pittsburgh, Chris manages the Pittsburgh facilities and assists in the coordination of videoconferencing firmwide. The firm has 24 offices from Berlin to Taipei
Chris’ wife, Tara, is an accomplished dancer and currently teaches piano to adult and young students. It has been Chris and Tara’s dream to participate in the opening of a cultural center and, upon hearing about plans to restore The Strand, Chris quickly offered his services as a member of The Initiative’s Board of Directors. Chris’ organizational skills, leadership abilities and political contacts provide The Initiative with strong support and access to influential and affluent resources.
