Prior Full Time Profession: Corporate and Freelance Marketing

Before striking out on his own as a freelance marketing consultant, Ron accumulated over 10 years of marketing experience while working for industry leaders like Foot Locker and American Eagle Outfitters or pioneers such as @VentureWorks, a technology incubator and Athletic Training Network, an interactive sports education company. This experience includes strategic planning, brand management, advertising, print production, Public Relations, budget management and event planning.

Ron has 20 years business management and leadership experience. Graduating from Grove City College with a BA in Business Administration, Ron spent 18 months with Fisher’s Big Wheel, a mass merchant retailer, before moving on to Foot Locker. He spent three and half years in store management before being promoted to the marketing department in their New York City headquarters. Ron’s marketing career led him from an Associate Brand Manager to Director of Marketing over a ten-year span.

Through his combined retail and marketing management experience, Ron has an extensive background in directing and developing subordinates, budget planning and management, contract negotiation, project management and facilities management.

Ron’s interest in the theater stems from his participation in high school and college productions and continuing with community theater even as he built his professional marketing career. Ron has always had a passion for the theater as his active participation and Theta Alpha Phi dramatic honorary membership demonstrates.

Ron’s wide and varied background provides a unique perspective in building a theater program with roots in business management. His theatrical skills, coupled with his entrepreneurial spirit, make him the perfect choice to lead The Strand Theater Initiative’s Board of Directors
