Austin Powers Weekend
Friday - Sunday, May 7 - 9
The International Man of Mystery is Back on the Big Screen with All Three of His 'Shagedelic' Adventures, Baby!

Through a special licensing arrangement with
Cineburgh, The Strand proudly presents Mike Myers' iconic Austin Powers character, featuring all three of his 'shagedelic' adventures over one groovy weekend, baby!

In the inaugural Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery, the world-class playboy and part-time secret agent from the 1960s emerges after thirty years in a cryogenic state to battle with his nemesis Dr. Evil.

Mike Myers originally wanted Jim Carrey to play Dr. Evil, but Carrey eventually passed due to scheduling conflicts with Liar Liar (1997). Myers then took the iconic role himself.

In The Spy Who Shagged Me, Dr. Evil is back and has invented a new time machine that allows him to go back to the 1960s and steal Austin Powers' mojo, inadvertently leaving him "shagless".

Dr. Evil calls one of his creations The Alan Parsons Project, spoofing the name of the popular band from the late 70s and early 80s. In 1999, Alan Parsons released his album "The Time Machine", and a remix of the title track includes snippets of Dr. Evil's dialogue from the movie.

In Goldmember, upon learning that his father has been kidnapped, Austin Powers must travel to 1975 and defeat the aptly named villain Goldmember, who is working with Dr. Evil.

Mike Myers has said that his glasses in all three movies are meant to look like those worn by Sir Michael Caine in The Ipcress File (1965), so Caine took the original glasses (model "Teviot 74" by U.K. Optical) to the set, and wore them as Nigel.
