Saxophonist Eddie Manion - SOLD OUT

World renowned Saxophonist Eddie Manion returns to The Strand with another incredible show featuring Mark Strickland (Guitar), George C. Jones (Percussion), Rick Gallagher (Piano), George Perilli (Drums), Jason Rafalak (Bass) and Danny Gochnour (Guitar).

Eddie Manion is known for his big open “Texas Tenor” Rock n’ Roll blues sound. He is currently baritone saxophonist and horn arranger/director for Little Steven and the Disciples of Soul whose 2017 tour throughout Europe and the United States was a huge success supporting their new album Soulfire.

Eddie Manion has lived a life of Rock & Roll, R&B, Jazz and Blues.  Whenever Bruce Springsteen & The E-Street Band needed a horn section, they called on Manion, initially in 1977 for a historic group of shows at the Monmouth Arts Center in Red Bank, on his 1988 Tunnel of Love tour, right up to his most recent Wrecking Ball and High Hopes world tours from 2012 - 2014.

Eddie Manion was also saxophonist and original member of Bruce Springsteen’s Seeger Sessions Band recording the Columbia Records release “We Shall Overcome” and “Live in Dublin” in 2006. A major highlight in Eddie’s career was being asked to write the horn arrangements for Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band’s segment of the Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame 25th Anniversary show at Madison Square Garden featuring Darlene Love, John Fogerty and Sam Moore in October 2009.

Eddie will be playing selections from his highly acclaimed instrumental album Nightlife along with a few rock n’ roll classics from the groups that he has toured with over the years, and a trip through Eddie’s roots, growing up listening to sax greats like Ben Webster, Lester Young, Stanley Turrentine, Red Prysok, Lee Allen, Sam “The Man” Taylor, King Curtis and Jr. Walker.

Whether you've seen all of Eddie's previous Strand shows, or will be enjoying your first experience with him, this a concert event not to be missed!
