Starring  Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine & Alan Arkin

Desperate to pay the bills and come through for their loved ones, three lifelong pals risk it all by embarking on a daring bid to knock off the very bank that absconded with their money.

A reboot of the 1979 movie that was directed by Martin Brest and featured George Burns, Art Carney, and Lee Strasberg. Three seniors, who are living social security check to check and even reduced to eating dog food at times, decide they have had enough. So, they plan to rob a bank...problem is, they don't even know how to handle a gun! A social commentary on growing old in America and what we are sometimes driven to, due to circumstances.

Morgan Freeman and Alan Arkin have never worked together prior to this. However, one actor replaced the other in The Bonfire of the Vanities (1990). Arkin was the original choice and signed on for the judge character when said role was to be played by a Jewish actor. But during production, the director changed his mind and opted for an African-American actor and Freeman got the role.

On the other time, this film marks the SIXTH time that Freeman and Sir Michael Caine have worked together., among them being The Dark Knight Trilogy and Now You See Me.  Caine and Arkin worked together quite awhile back on Woman Times Seven (1967).

When the bank robbery takes place, the masks Michael Caine, Alan Arkin and Morgan Freeman wear are, respectively, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Sammy Davis, Jr. masks. Known collectively as the Rat Pack and stars of the 1960 heist movie, Ocean's 11.
