In Footloose, a city teenager struggles to adjust to
life in a rural town where dancing is a banned activity.
Kevin Bacon has admitted that he would tip DJs at weddings NOT
to play Footloose. People expected him to dance the
song as he did in the movie. In truth, while he did do some of
the dancing, he also had a dancing double do most of the more
complex choreography.
Grease is the blockbuster that made superstars of John
Travolta and Olivia Newton-John, and is based on the original
Broadway smash.
Jeff Conaway (Kenickie) was so infatuated with Olivia
Newton-John he was tongue-tied whenever she was around. He later
married Olivia's sister, Rona Newton-John.
In Dirty Dancing, while spending the summer in the
Catskills with her family, an innocent young woman falls in love
with the camp's dance instructor.
The dancing that Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey do during the
love scene was the same dance that they did for the screentests.
It was not originally supposed to be in the film.
